The spread of the Coronavirus has everyone on edge, to say the least, but we’re here to assure you that we will monitor any suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 to keep those individuals, and their families, safe.
Who qualifies for the programme and how do they join?
This programme is for any community member who has tested positive for COVID-19, is displaying symptoms of the virus and waiting for their test results, or is experiencing the symptoms associated with the virus but can’t be tested due to extenuating circumstances.
A pulse oximetry device that will check your pulse rate and oxygen levels.
A thermometer (if you don’t have one).
One of our medics will explain to you how to use them both, and you will sign an indemnity form. Your wellness volunteer will contact you once every two days, once a day, or twice a day based on your risk level. Phone calls will be made between 08h00-10h00 in the morning and 16h00-18h00 in the afternoon throughout your isolation to track your wellbeing by asking you some questions.
What questions will the wellness volunteer ask me?
They will ask you some basic questions, including what your vital signs are. Using the devices Hatzolah delivered, you’ll be able to give them this information. Based on clinical criteria settled by medical experts, Hatzolah will track your health remotely and, in conjunction with your GP, guide you on the next steps of your treatment plan.
Will my medical information be protected?
Yes. All wellness volunteers are legally bound by a confidentiality agreement and are not allowed to share your medical information with anyone.
Do I still need to bother getting tested if I’m part of the programme?
Yes. This service does not remove your responsibility of informing your GP and the NICD of your condition so that you can get tested. If you experience a change in your condition, or another condition, please don’t wait for our wellness volunteer to contact you. Contact our emergency line, your GP, or a hospital.
